I just clipped the stud off, drilled a small hole in the side cover and used a zip tie. I love the look and the extra capacity of the clarke tank.

Test your Clarke tank with the fuel petcock installed by shining a flashlight inside the tank. If bright light is escaping anywhere around the base of the fuel cock, gasoline might also leak out. Consider testing your Clarke tank by pouring water or another liquid into it with the petcock installed.
